Demi Moore Is No Longer “Holding On To What Was” As She Supports Bruce Willis

When a loved one faces a catastrophic illness diagnosis, it takes an incredible emotional and physical toll on their families. Some stay they go through varying stages of grief as they think about the way life was and what the future holds. Those closest to Bruce Willis have been very vocal about their love and support for him in the years since his aphasia diagnosis. Though life will never be the same, they refuse to give up.

Demi Moore Still Has A Deep Love For Bruce
On October 13, the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival honored Demi with the Carer Achievement in Acting Award. The Substance actress said that Bruce remains “stable,” and she is pragmatic about his future, People reported.

“You know, I’ve said this before. The disease is what the disease is. And I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is,” Demi told the audience.
Demi added that she has forced herself to accept that things will never be the same.

“What I always encourage is to just meet them where they’re at. When you’re holding on to what was, I think it’s a losing game,” she said. “But when you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is great beauty and sweetness.”

Demi does her best to share good times with her ex-husband and their daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30. Even though they understand the inevitable, Demi told The Guardian that it will be a heartbreak when Bruce is gone.

“We’ve all had moments where you go back and you’re trying to fix something, and you’re just making it worse to the point where you’re incapacitated,” she said. “We’re seeing these small things nobody else is looking at, but we’re so hyper-focused on all that we’re not. All of us, if we start to think our value is only with how we look then ultimately we’re going to be crushed.”
