My son called me from college one night just to say, “I love you.” He almost never called for something like that, and something about his voice made me uneasy. Without telling him, I booked the next flight and traveled to his college that same night.

With support and renewed confidence, he worked through his struggles and eventually passed both classes. That unexpected phone call became one of the most important moments in our relationship.
