MINNEAPOLIS ICU NURSE FACES HORROR AS SCHOOL SHOOTING VICTIMS ARRIVE

In one of the most heartbreaking twists imaginable, a Minneapolis nurse on duty at Hennepin Healthcare found herself treating the victims of a school shooting—only to discover that her own child was among them.

Amy Forchas, a pediatric ICU nurse, was working her Wednesday morning shift when ambulances began rushing in children from Annunciation Catholic School and Church, the site of a horrific mass shooting that left two children dead and 17 others injured.

Among the wounded was her 12-year-old daughter, Sophia, who was critically hurt and rushed into emergency surgery. Amy’s younger son, who was also at the school, escaped physical injury but is struggling with the emotional trauma of witnessing the attack unfold.
