At the age of 86, Frank peacefully departed this world while sleeping on Saturday, as confirmed by a close friend.Born in the UK and raised in Australia, Frank Ifield returned to his home country in 1959. It didn’t take long for him to capture the hearts of the British public and rise to stardom. His chart-topping hits, including “I Remember You,” “Lovesick Blues,” “The Wayward Wind,” and “Confessin’ That I Love You,” catapulted him to number one in the UK.
Frank Ifield’s musical journey began at the age of 13 when he received a guitar as a gift. With sheer determination and a thirst for creativity, he taught himself to play the instrument and began composing his own songs. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for yodeling and country music, which would become synonymous with his unique style.
In his quest for success, Ifield poured his heart and soul into his craft, releasing an astounding 44 records in just six years. This relentless dedication and the sheer talent earned him the title of the best-selling recording artist in Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania.
