University of Wyoming Community Stunned After 3 Students Are Tragically Killed

Three University of Wyoming students from the swimming and diving team tragically lost their lives in a car crash near the Wyoming-Colorado border. Sophomore Charlie Clark, 19, junior Luke Slabber, 21, and freshman Carson Muir, 18, died when their Toyota RAV4 rolled off U.S. Highway 287 near Virginia Dale, Colorado. Two other teammates sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle veered off the road and rolled multiple times. Colorado State Patrol is exploring possible causes, including speed or distractions. University President Ed Seidel and Athletics Director Tom Burman expressed deep sorrow, offering support to the grieving community. Governor Mark Gordon also extended condolences. The victims were not on official school business.
