As expected, there were many weird and wonderful outfits on show at yesterday\u2019s 2024 Met Gala, but actress Demi Moore may well lay claim to having donned the most eye-catching.<\/p>\n
The 61-year-old took to the Met Gala red carpet for her first appearance at the event in five years, wearing a gown supposedly made of\u2026 wait for it\u2026 wallpaper!<\/p>\n
The outfit in question sported heart-shaped wings that fanned out from Moore\u2019s sides, as well as a pink-and-white floral design which the actress accessorized with diamond jewelry by Cartier.<\/p>\n
After catching the attention of photographers \u2013 and indeed fans around the world who watched the event \u2013 Moore revealed that the dress was \u201cnot heavy at all\u201d and in fact, it made her \u201cwant to rumba.\u201d<\/p>\n
As stated, the elegant gown, made by Harris Reed, is fashioned from wallpaper, with Reed explaining that the project took an astounding 11,000 hours of silk embroidery.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt all started with this incredible Cartier necklace that Demi is wearing,\u201d the designer said at the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was inspired by the floral feeling it gave me. The whole piece is made out of vintage archival wallpaper. We repurposed it. It\u2019s 11,000 hours of silk embroidery that we\u2019ve repurposed into this idea of her blooming on the carpet. I wanted to be the vines to her thorns.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moore last attended the Met Gala in the pre-COVID-19 pandemic days of 2019. On that occasion she opted for an all-black gown with a plunging neckline by Saint Laurent.<\/p>\n
Last month, the Indecent Proposal star turned heads when she stepped out at Dolce and Gabbana\u2019s 40th anniversary party. The 61-year-old actress wore a see-through black dress for the occasion, with basic black undergarments beneath and a pair of simple black heels.<\/p>\n
Letting her dress steal the attention, Moore kept her makeup light, with a soft-pink lipstick and bold mascara. She didn\u2019t don any jewelry for the event, while her luscious dark locks tumbled down to her waist.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe looks unreal for her age. BRAVO,\u201d one person wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n
Another opined: \u201cHer and Cher I swear are vampires and the most beautiful women in Hollywood. As a nurse I can unfortunately tell their age by the way the walk, as well with Madonna. Our gate and bones is something we can\u2019t have plastic surgeons fix. Kuddos to all of them for aging beautifully and I hope to be like them one day.\u201c<\/p>\n
