Back in preschool, our teacher gave us a simple assignment: draw a picture of our family. I proudly drew four people and carefully labeled them in my messy handwriting as \u201cMe,\u201d \u201cMy Brother,\u201d \u201cDad,\u201d and \u201cAunt Susan.\u201d When my teacher noticed that my mom was missing from the picture, she became concerned and called her to discuss it.<\/p>\n
Later that day, my mom gently asked why I hadn\u2019t included her in the drawing. Everyone expected there to be a serious reason, and the room felt surprisingly tense as they waited for my answer.<\/p>\n
Without hesitation, I smiled and said, \u201cBecause Mom is so beautiful, and I can\u2019t draw beautifully!\u201d My innocent explanation instantly changed the mood, replacing worry with laughter.<\/p>\n
The misunderstanding was cleared up, although my poor Aunt Susan had accidentally taken my mom\u2019s place in the drawing.
