Officer Ryan Tillman, a well-loved school resource officer at Don Lugo High School in California, found a unique way to bid farewell to the students.<\/p>\n
Having built strong relationships during his time at the school, Tillman was set to leave his position after earning a promotion to Chino Police Corporal.<\/p>\n
But instead of a typical emotional goodbye, Tillman opted for something more memorable.<\/p>\n
Working alongside the school\u2019s principal and dance team, Officer Tillman arranged a surprise dance performance during a school assembly.
\nSpeaking to NBC Los Angeles about his decision, he said,<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to make a big exit, so I thought, what better way than to dance?\u201d<\/p>\n
He wasn\u2019t just saying goodbye\u2014he was making a lasting impression with a lighthearted, unforgettable moment.<\/p>\n
As the assembly began, the excitement in the gymnasium grew as Tillman joined the dance students on stage. When Lil Mama\u2019s \u201cLip Gloss\u201d started playing, the dance kicked off.<\/p>\n
While it might seem unusual for a police officer to dance in front of high school students, Officer Tillman showed that he was more than just an officer\u2014he had moves!<\/p>\n
The students erupted in cheers as Tillman showcased his dance abilities.<\/p>\n
Another school resource officer commented, commending Tillman\u2019s courage:<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m also an SRO, but I could NEVER get up in front of staff and students to dance. Kudos to you for doing it. Many people don\u2019t realize the balance SROs must strike with young people at their schools.\u201d<\/p>\n
