After every miscarriage, Victor assured Paige that everything would be all right eventually, and that if they couldn\u2019t have a baby of their own, they could always consider other options. His words were always comforting.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"74\">When baby Mason was welcomed into the world, it felt like all those shattered dreams had finally pieced themselves together. Do you want Mommy to be sad, buddy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"106\">\u201cNo, I don\u2019t,\u201d Mason answered.<\/p>\n<h2 data-reader-unique-id=\"107\">At that moment, pretending she didn\u2019t hear a thing, Paige yelled, \u201cSon! Victor! Mom\u2019s home!\u201d<\/h2>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"108\">\u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d she asked, as Mason leaped into her arms.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"109\">\u201cNothing, honey,\u201d Victor said, winking. \u201cJust a boys\u2019 chat. Welcome home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"114\">Since Victor was the perfect husband and father, Paige tried to convince herself that the conversation she overheard was truly nothing important. She thought to herself that Victor probably gave Mason too many sweets or let him eat junk food, and that\u2019s what they tried to hide from her.<\/p>\n<h2 data-reader-unique-id=\"117\">However, letting it go seemed harder that she thought.<\/h2>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"118\">The week that followed and the trip she had to take were both a blessing and a curse for Paige. As much as she loved her job, the thought of leaving Mason saddened her profoundly. She only found solace in the photos Victor sent her, and one of those photos brought more questions than answers.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"119\">In one of the photos showing Mason playing with his toys, Paige spotted blue shows she had never seen before. They weren\u2019t hers, yet they were there in her living room.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"120\">Paige decided to scroll through each of the photos Victor has ever sent her, and she did find more evidence of someone being in their home while she was away. Was it a nanny he hired to take care of their son? If yes, she had a very expensive taste.<\/p>\n<h2 data-reader-unique-id=\"130\">This time, Paige decided to return home without telling Victor. She wanted to surprise him and her son.<\/h2>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"131\">Once home from her trip, she entered straight to Mason\u2019s room who had just woken up and was rubbing his eyes.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"132\">\u201cDad\u2019s not downstairs?\u201d she asked, as she could hear noises coming from the bedroom. \u201cMommy, don\u2019t go in there. You\u2019ll be sad,\u201d\u00a0Mason warned her.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"133\">In the bedroom, Victor was in bed with another woman. \u201cPaige!\u201d he exclaimed, sitting up in bed. \u201cIt\u2019s not what you think!\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"139\">\u201cDo I look that stupid?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"140\">The woman took her clothes and entered the bathroom, locking the door behind her.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"145\">The ensuing confrontation was a whirlwind of tears, accusations, and heartbreak. Victor attempted to deny everything, relying on his charm. Paige knew that if she hadn\u2019t seen it with her own eyes, she might have fallen for his lies.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"146\">\u201cI have nothing else to say to you,\u201d Paige said.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"152\">\u201cWhat did you expect, Paige?\u201d Victor asked.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"153\">The woman fled the house and Paige was left to confront the man she no longer knew.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"154\">\u201cYou\u2019re never here,\u201d he lashed out. \u201cYou\u2019re never around. And when you\u2019re home, you spend all your time on Mason or working. What about me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"155\">He tried to portray himself as a victim. \u201cI need human contact, too,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t know what you get up to when you\u2019re flying all over the country. I bet you\u2019ve got stories, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"161\">\u201cNo, Victor,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not you. My vows meant something to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"166\">Eventually, Paige asked Victor to move out and filed for divorce.
